How to operate a horizontal sterilizer?
This is the title h1 placeholder text
Summary: Before installation and use, the horizontal sterilizer should be registered with the local special equipment supervision agency. Operators of the horizontal sterilizer must undergo specialized training, be familiar with the operating system, and strictly abide by the operating procedures during operation. Horizontal sterilizers are a type of pressure vessel, and exceeding the pressure limit is strictly prohibited. For specific data on the horizontal sterilizer, please refer to the equipment's quality certificate. Before using the horizontal sterilizer, check that all instruments are functioning normally, the power supply is correct and functioning, the backup valves are closed, the water must be added above the high water level line before operation, and the sterilization temperature and time must be set.

Horizontal Sterilizer Operating Procedures and Steps:
1. Stacking
The sterilizer load must not exceed 80% of the sterilization chamber capacity. Try to sterilize similar items together. If different items must be sterilized together, use the temperature and time required for the most difficult-to-sterilize items. When loading items, leave some space between them in all directions to facilitate steam displacement of air. Package volume must not exceed 200mm x 200mm x 250mm. Large, difficult-to-sterilize bags should be placed on the upper level, and smaller, easier-to-sterilize bags on the lower level; items should be placed on the lower metal layer, and the upper layer should be wrapped in fabric. Items should not be placed against the door or walls to prevent the absorption of more condensate. Metal packages should be placed flat, while plates, dishes, bowls, etc., should be placed upright; fabrics should be folded vertically to the horizontal plane; glass bottles should be placed with the opening down or sideways to facilitate steam entry and air exhaust. When opening closed sieve containers, the sieve cover should be opened. When sterilizing solutions, they should be poured into hard, heat-resistant glass bottles, not exceeding 3/4 of their volume. Plug the bottle with cotton gauze, tie it to the neck of the bottle with gauze string to prevent the gauze plug from falling into the bottle. Do not use rubber or cork stoppers without holes. It is best to place glass bottles in slightly larger enamel or metal trays to prevent solution loss and contamination of the sterilization chamber metal inner wall if the glass bottles burst.
2. Close the Door
Close the door, rotate the locking handle clockwise to the middle position so that the support rod can enter the door ring. Then rotate the octagonal handwheel clockwise to ensure the door and rubber gasket are sealed.
3. Add Water
Before operation, the drain valve must be closed, and the water inlet and drain valves opened to allow water to enter the tank until it reaches 5-10 mm above the high water level, then close the water inlet and drain valves. Check the water level before each sterilization; if insufficient, add more.
4. Heating
Close the condensation control valve, turn the power switch to "ON", the power indicator light will illuminate, the water level indicator light will illuminate, turn on the heating switch, and the heating indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the water tank has begun to heat up, and the generated steam enters the jacket.
When the water level in the water tank falls below the specified water level, the heating power will automatically cut off, the water level indicator light will go out, the alarm indicator light will illuminate, and a buzzer will sound. At this time, the power switch should be turned off, and water should be added when the interlayer steam pressure is zero. After adding water, heating can be continued. When the jacket pressure exceeds the upper limit set by the jacket pressure gauge, the heating power will automatically cut off, and the heating indicator light will go out. After the power is cut off, the pressure will automatically remain stable. When the jacket pressure exceeds the set pressure of the pressure controller, the heating indicator light will go out, and heating will stop.
5. Sterilization
When the steam pressure in the jacket reaches 0.14 MPa or more, the "sterilization" switch can be turned on to allow steam to enter the sterilization chamber, and the electromagnetic valve in the inner chamber can be opened to automatically exhaust cold air for replacement (exhaust time is adjustable). When the pressure reaches around 0.11 MPa, turn off the sterilization switch, open all condensation control valves, and exhaust cold air. After the internal pressure is zero, turn on the sterilization switch to increase the pressure, then slightly close the condensation control valve to a certain position (do not close it completely). Condensate and a small amount of steam will continuously drain from the drain valve. When the thermometer in the sterilization chamber reaches the preset temperature value, the digital display time relay will begin to calculate the sterilization time.
The sterilization time, temperature, and corresponding pressure required for various items should comply with the disinfection technical specifications issued by the Ministry of Health.
6. Steam Exhaust
When the sterilization time is up, the steam in the sterilization chamber will be automatically exhausted. At this time, all condensation control valves should be opened to exhaust the steam. When the pressure gauge in the sterilization chamber drops to the "0" position, the alarm indicator light will illuminate and a buzzer will sound. Wait another 1-2 minutes for natural cooling, then open the door according to the door opening procedure.
7. Open the Door
Turn off the power switch. When the internal pressure is "0", rotate the octagonal handwheel counterclockwise. When it reaches the appropriate position, turn the locking handle counterclockwise. For items unaffected by temperature, such as dressings, the door can be opened immediately to retrieve items; for containers with openings and closed sieve holes, the sieve hole covers should be closed before removal; for sterilization items easily affected by temperature and prone to explosion, such as glassware, do not immediately open the door, but slightly open it by 5-10 mm to allow the temperature inside the sterilization chamber to equalize with the outside temperature before fully opening the door and retrieving items to avoid cold-induced explosions.
